First National Bank & Trust Company of McAlester opened on 12 December 1896 as The First National Bank of McAlester. It took its present name on 1 April 1971 and moved the main office to 235 E Choctaw, where it still is.

It has served McAlester, Pittsburg County and southeastern Oklahoma for more than 125 years, with drive-ins at 2nd & Chickasaw and on Carl Albert Parkway, and branches in Hartshorne and Wilburton.
