The 2025 Railway District Christmas Parade

Let’s really light up the night! Adorn your float with as many lights as possible—let’s see who will outshine them all!

Location: Downtown McAlester

Date: Thursday, December 11th, 2025 @ 6:30pm

Entry Deadline: Tuesday, November 25th @ 6pm
Any registrations after this date must include a $10 late fee and will be placed at the back of the line.

Registrations not completed online must be delivered to:
Yellow Gazebo – 109 East Choctaw
with a check made out to The Railway District.

Registration Fees

Business Entry: $100.00

Non-Business Entry: $25.00

Public Schools: FREE

Fire Stations: FREE

Late Fee: $10.00 (after Nov 25)

Floats rather than vehicles are encouraged.

Have fun and get creative! The most creative entries will win. Winners will receive recognition and a trophy for the year.

Rules & Information

NO Santas – We have a Santa at the very end of the parade. Pictures, inflatables, etc. are ok, but no live Santa.
NO throwing candy – Walkers beside floats may hand out candy, but nothing may be thrown from floats.
Lineup Info: Lineup begins at 3pm the day of the parade. Check in at Diamond Trophy (7 N A Street). Numbers will be sent 2 days prior. Please refrain from requesting specific numbers.
Lineup is down A Street – your number will be painted on the concrete. Firetrucks park at The King’s House. ATVs/Motorcycles must turn off engines once parked.
NO burnouts – Unsafe and will result in fines/removal.
Parade Route: East on Carl Albert Pkwy from A Street to 5th Street, right on 5th, right on Choctaw Ave, ending at Main Street.

Terms and Conditions for Participation in the 2025 Christmas Parade

Event Details

Date & Time: Thursday, December 11th, 2025 @ 6:30 p.m.
Line Up: Begins at 3:00 p.m.
Check-in Location: Parking lot of Diamond Trophy & Engraving at 7 N A Street. Lineup will span down A Street.
Firetruck Parking: Firetrucks should park at The King’s House.

Assignment of Numbers

Lineup numbers will be assigned the week of the event and emailed to you 2 days before the parade.
Your number will also be painted on the concrete along A Street.
Please refrain from requesting specific lineup numbers—we do our best to maintain a safe and logical flow.

Instructions for Participants

Please check in at Diamond Trophy and follow instructions provided by staff and volunteers.
All ATVs, motorcycles, and similar vehicles must turn off engines after lining up.

Parade Participation Guidelines

Throwing Candy: For safety, no candy or items may be thrown from floats. Walkers may hand out candy directly to the crowd.
No Burnouts: Absolutely no burnouts. This is dangerous in a crowded environment. Violators may be fined and asked to leave.

The Santa Clause

No Live Santas on Floats: The official parade Santa will appear on the final float. Images, decorations, and inflatables of Santa are acceptable, but no live Santas to avoid confusion for children.

Waiver

Parade Waiver: With this waiver, I, the undersigned participant, intend to be legally bound and hereby waive, release, and discharge all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Railway District, the City of McAlester, and all of their agents, representatives, officials, employees, volunteers, and sponsors assisting with the 2025 Christmas Parade. This release applies to any and all injuries and/or damages to myself or my personal property that may occur before, during, or after the event. I acknowledge that I have read, fully understand, and agree to the terms of this waiver and release.
